VxVM Troubleshooting – Procedure to Replace Internal FibreChannel (FC) Disks controlled by VxVM

  2. @Satya, below are the general steps to release disks from Veritas control.

    1.) Check the disk status.
    # vxdisk list

    2.) Remove the disk from Diskgroup.
    # vxdg -g diskgroup rmdisk disk-name

    3.) Verify the disk status.
    # vxdisk list

    4.) Unsetup the disk i.e release the disk from Veritas control to OS control.
    # vxdiskunsetup -C
