We are curious to know your Feedback

I have started unixadminschool.com ( aka gurkulindia.com) in 2009 as my own personal reference blog, and later sometime i have realized that my leanings might be helpful for other unixadmins if I manage my knowledge-base in more user friendly format. And the result is today's' unixadminschool.com. You can connect me at - https://www.linkedin.com/in/unixadminschool/

For some reason I can’t make a comment on your article about RedHat filesystem problems. I don’t do Linux, but have a couple of unix-general comments/questions.

    1) with some versions of unix there at least had been a file with a list of superblocks one might try, which may vary depending on the options one used when creating the filesystem. In the dark past I had success using one of those when the first would not work.

    2) as I remember reading the article, at the end it explains how to mount the problem filesystem without doing the fsck, which would be madness on many systems. If you do this I’d rename it to something like /home-needs-to-be-fixed.

    3) again, this isn’t my flavor of unix, but you might suggest some useful fsck options, like “fsck -y”, if there are a ton of files to be fixed and one couldn’t take time to note/consider all of them.

As a general comment, it has been interesting to see how this site has evolved and made it much easier to get the information one might want.

Ram – I’ve been checking your blogs more than 2 years and liked it so much and tried to resolve some of the unix issues in my current project work. Now, I got stuck at point not sure how to proceed further..

I have a control domain with solaris 11 operating system with two interfaces (net0 for netbackup interface & net4 for primary interface) .

    The primary interface (net4) is tagged with (137 & 146) VLANs i.e I have to build 5 LDOMs(solaris 10) on 137 vlan (subnet 10.18.139.x) and 5 LDOMS(solairs 10) ON 146 vlan(subnet 10.18.142.x) .

I’ve configured the CD with vcpus, memory, mau’s,consoles, but not with vsw not sure what interfaces to be added here.

Not sure what network interfaces to be enabled in the control domain primary interface. could you great help if you can help me in this..
