Solaris Troubleshooting – Recreating /etc/path-to-install


I have started ( aka in 2009 as my own personal reference blog, and later sometime i have realized that my leanings might be helpful for other unixadmins if I manage my knowledge-base in more user friendly format. And the result is today's' You can connect me at -

    Also, the rootdisk physical path can be found if you have created aliases for your root & rootmirror disk.
    Just run “devalias” at OK prompt and you will get the Physical path for you disks.

    I am stating this point, bzu most of the guys find it difficult to get Physical Disk paths in Solaris, as it is completely different than other OS like Linux & AIX.
